At Reach school we feel it is important for both students and parents to have the opportunity to be able to access impartial on-line resources to help your child develop their aspirations, review and analyse their long-term and short-term careers goals and use information obtained to help make decisions about their possible options and career paths. Please see below information that will direct you to these online resources. As Parents these resources will help you to understand the changes in further education and give you a good foundation of knowledge to support your child with their chosen path.  

The National Career Service provide information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work 

Success at School is the place for young people to explore careers, get the lowdown on top employers, and search for the latest jobs, courses and advice. Lots of helpful advice in the advice section on employability skills, work experience, apprenticeships, university and different career paths. 

Labour Market Information 

Labour Market Information (LMI) is used to understand the current economic climate. LMI allows young people and adults to research and see which career areas and growing and which are declining by things such as predicted growth/decline rates, working hours, average salaries, application made in that field etc all of this information is used to help you make an informed decision on your future employment.  

Website that gives you free access to more than a thousand videos related to different curriculum subjects of people telling their personal careers stories in their own words including information on  the Labour Market e.g. average salary, skills & qualification. 


The Direct Gov website allows both parents and students to search for Apprenticeships in their area and make applications for available vacancies. It also provides information regarding salaries and qualifications offered.  

The amazing apprenticeship website offers students lots of useful resources regarding apprenticeships and information about different levels, how to apply and live broadcasts.
