The English course at Reach follows the AQA exam board and is designed to inspire and motivate students, providing appropriate stretch and challenge whilst ensuring that the assessment and texts are, as far as possible, accessible to all students.

It enables students to develop the skills they need to read, understand and analyse a wide range of different texts and write clearly.

The first exam paper is centred about descriptive writing and reading and assesses student’s ability to read and write creatively. The second paper assesses student’s ability to recognise and comment on a writer’s views and perspectives, plus they will write their own non-fiction based piece.
